The Brief

Sellick Partnership is a niche recruitment firm specialising in legal and finance jobs, with seven offices across the UK. Sellick Partnership commissioned us to create a comprehensive digital strategy to help them increase the number of CVs on their database and the number of job applicants.

The Challenges

Organic search results are increasingly dominated by large job boards, able to get individual job pages indexed more quickly than small, niche sites. In addition, Sellick Partnership cannot compete budget-wise with larger, more generalist firms. We needed to make best use of Sellick's budget in order to help them drive growth.

The Approach

We became an extension of Sellick Partnership's internal marketing team, developing and delivering the strategy and content marketing ideas together. This approach enabled us to make the best use of Sellick Partnership's contacts and internal resource to maintain the social media accounts. It also allowed for us to focus our expertise on specialist content and outreach as well as driving improvements to web content. The strategy focused heavily on raising brand awareness and growing links and citations through thought pieces, blogger outreach and PR.

The Results

Month-on-month Sellick Partnership continues to break new records in fee income, resulting from the increased exposure and growing brand awareness generated by the thought leadership campaign. The number of CV uploads increased by 40%, the number of user sessions by 12% and social referrals grew by 16%, aided by a clear strategy and very strong content.

The growth the business has experienced has enabled Sellick Partnership to grow its own internal marketing team within the recruitment firm.

This has also led them to raise marketing budgets and set more ambitious growth targets. Their investment in a new web design suitable for the recruitment industry has helped them to reach these targets and led to more referrals and uploaded CV’s overall.

From the outset the I-COM team invested the time and resource to understand our business needs, in-line with our overall objectives. We had a fixed monthly budget and it was their role to convert that into placement fees through a hardworking, integrated online marketing strategy.
