What’s your name and where are you from?

I’m Laura (not to be confused with Laura Turner!) and I’m originally from a little seaside town in South West Wales called Tenby - quite the opposite to Manchester!

What's the one thing you can't live without?

Probably tea. Or cheese...mmm, cheese.

How did you first start working in digital?

My degree is in Advertising and Brand Design so I went on to work in an Advertising agency in Manchester. During my time there I discovered I really enjoyed working on Digital projects and was keen to progress in this field further.

What is your favourite thing about working in digital?

You never stop learning. Therefore you never settle and never get stuck in a job rut. There are constantly new things to learn and ways to better yourself.

Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what is it?

I’m grade 5 violin. And I can play Noah and The Whale - ‘5 Years Time’ on my ukulele - but that’s about it for now. I can also give you a run for your money on karaoke (especially if it’s a Whitney song!) and I’m part of a 60-strong show choir.

What nicknames do you have?

I’ve had several over the years including Bob, Bev, Jim...I wish I knew the answer to why too. I think my favourite has been Smiley because it seems I have a resting smile face which I guess is better than a frown! But I’m mostly known as Lozza or Marky to my friends back home.

What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you?

I once went up to a girl on the street thinking it was a friend of mine and hugged her (before I’d had my eyes tested) ...then realised it wasn’t my friend at all - in true Specsavers advert style! Also, in my first year of uni on a trip to Tesco to buy all sorts of studenty-goods my housemates decided it would be hilarious to suddenly pick me up and throw me in one of the open freezers and leave me there...and then I couldn’t get out.

What was the last book you read?

#GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso. For all those independent women out there.

What is your favourite colour and why?

Red. I’m a Leo and they say fire zodiac signs are attracted to fiery colours - so I guess that’s why.

If you were a superhero, what superpower would you have and what would be your superhero name?

I’d like to be invisible so I could pull good pranks and finally get my own back on my boyfriend and dad who are forever pranking me! I’d be called Revenge Warrior.

Tell us a surprising secret about yourself...

I am your father.

Would you rather get in a bath full of beans or be covered in porridge?

Porridge - dry bean juice wouldn’t be a good moisturiser.

Do you prefer cats or dogs?

I love both but I grew up with a cat who thought he was a dog - he played fetch and everything.
