Meet… Liz Walmsley

Rebecca Dudley

So, Liz..

What's the one thing you can't live without?

My wobbly bookcase of books. I've carted it around from flat to flat, north to south (and back again) since leaving home for uni when I was 18 and it makes me happy.

Would you rather cry glue or sneeze marbles?

Sneeze marbles. I get chronic hay fever so might as well get something out of it.

How did you first start working in digital?

When I saw the ad for Content Strategist at I-COM and thought, “I can do that, hang on a sec - I've already done that with my theatre company and I didn't even know that that was what that was. Sweet."

What is your favourite thing about working in digital marketing?

The variety. If you can think it up, and it makes sense, you can probably do it. Sky's the limit!

If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?

A cat. Laze around all day, prowl about all night and get attention from your silly pet human when you want - sounds good to me.

If you were a superhero, what superpower would you have and what would be your superhero name?

The power to instantly play any instrument I want - perfectly. Theyd call me, ‘Muso Girl'.

Where do pigs come from?

When a mummy pig loves a daddy pig very much...

Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what is it?

I can bang out a Shakespearean monologue on demand (or just when I feel like it). Available characters include Puck, Juliet, Lady Anne, Viola, Helena and Lady Macbeth. Place your requests now.

Do you have any nicknames?

From my sisters alone: Liz, Delilah, Lila, Didz, Didibeth, Did-bet, Lila-bet, Lily-bet..

Why do birds suddenly appear?

You're in a Hitchcock movie.

What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you?

My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, what does your milkshake bring to the table?

I have no idea how to answer this. Erm... my milkshake brings all my best mates to the dance floor? Is that OK? Does that work? What does this question even mean?!

Where did you grow up, and why?

The Ribble Valley. Cos, er, that's where we lived.

Tell us a surprising secret about yourself

I've performed professionally on stage at the Globe.

What was the last book you read?

I just re-read one of my favourites, ‘This Book Will Save Your Life' by A. M. Homes. Recommended!
