Foundation for Peace Case Study

The Client

Foundation for Peace was born out of tragedy. In 1993 an IRA bomb placed in Warrington, Cheshire, exploded, killing Timothy Parry and Johnathan Ball. The parents of Timothy, Colin and Wendy Parry, decided to channel their grief into the formation of an educational peace charity. The charity aims to inspire people to lead more peaceful lives by participating in educational programmes. This enables individuals and groups to better understand conflict and by doing so to reduce or eliminate violence from situations affecting them.

The Brief

I-COM was approached in 2007 to develop a user friendly, easy to navigate website and to allow the Foundation For Peace to communicate online with its visitors, followers and individuals and any groups interested in making a donation to the charity.

The Solution

I-COM’s solutions to the brief included:

  • Designing and developing a new website
  • Design to incorporate the foundation symbol
  • Establishing W3C compliance
  • Creation of F4P Forums including: The Foundation for Peace General Forum, The Children for Peace & Communities Peace Forum, The Survivors for Peace Forum

Testimonial

"Working with I-COM was an absolute pleasure, their web design team quickly came up with an innovative design that captured what we wanted to portray. As a charity we were working to a very tight budget and yet both web design and web development was conducted very professionally, it seemed that nothing was too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend I-COM to anyone looking to undertake a major web design or web development project."

Clare White, Chief Executive, The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace

The Future

“It gives me great pleasure as Managing Director of I-COM to support The Foundation for Peace. I-COM has been commissioned, as of February 2011, to design and develop a new site for the Foundation for Peace which reflects their change in branding, and to update the site as well as provide a full content management system, blog and optimisation of the social media profiles and feeds.”

Timothy Roberts, Managing Director, I-COM
