Practicing What We Preach about Online Marketing…

I-COM’s June internet marketing seminar, ‘Maximising Online Revenues’, was fully subscribed thanks entirely to online marketing methods. The success in attracting people to this seminar, which provides tips and advice on PPC and Search Engine Optimisation, is a physical demonstration of the power of online marketing!

Through a couple of online press releases, the last I-COM newsletter and e-mail marketing, we have booked in excess of 50 people on the seminar. In fact, because we didn’t want to turn people away we’ve now set up an additional event in July.

Our SEO team have also helped to boost seminar registrations, through the creation and optimisation of a new page on the I-COM.net website. I-COM’s website now appears in the first page of Google for key search phrases such as ‘online marketing seminar’ and ‘free online marketing seminar’.

The newly arranged seminar will be held on the 15th July at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester. The seminar is aimed at those who have not undertaken any online marketing before and are seeking advice on its implementation, and those who are interested in understanding the I-COM approach. So, if you’ve not already attended one of the events and would like to, please click on the red button to register and we’ll see you there.

If you'd like to attend, please view the event page on our website at www.i-com.net/events.html.

E-mail Marketing – It won’t cost the Earth

E-mail marketingFor a different way of contacting potential clients, promoting product sales, or generating enquiries, e-mail marketing could be just the ticket.

An online alternative to direct mail shots, e-marketing is a great way of directly addressing clients and customers. Unlike direct mail, however, the success of the e-marketing package offered by I-COM can be measured to the finest of details. I-COM’s email marketing clients can view comprehensive and detailed reports on each e-mail distributed, including who received the email, how many times they have viewed it, which items they clicked on, what time they clicked and much more.

This level of intelligence is fantastic, providing endless opportunities for follow up marketing campaigns. Just imagine the conversion rates of a follow up campaign directly targeted at people who you already know have an interest in a particular product or service!

Pound for pound, e-marketing is proving to be an extremely cost effective method of promoting products and services for our clients. And what’s more, it cuts down on paper usage – in terms of both printing and distributing (we’re very eco-friendly here at I-COM!)

I-COM’s new e-mail marketing is so hot and new and exciting, that we haven’t even got a web page about it yet! So in the meantime, for more information about I-COM’s e-mail marketing services, call Kate Silvers at I-COM on 0870 143 3183.

Get Serious – Ignore the Spam Cowboys

When it comes to spam e-mails, it seems that online marketing is the new Viagra. Promises and guarantees are ten a penny – ‘drive thousands of visitors to your website’, ‘get to number one in Google for £100’ and ‘guaranteed results’ are just a few claims made by such e-mails. It seems that no-one is immune to this latest spam trend, with Google itself revealing that it regularly receives e-mails beginning: ’I visited your website and noticed that you are not listed in most of the major search engines and directories...‘

At I-COM, we always say that the old adage applies – if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is! So whether it’s promises of traffic, guaranteed rankings, pricey domain names that pay for themselves within days, or a ‘Stampede Of Red Hot, Hungry Prospects’, by e-mail or by phone, our advice is to steer well clear! Nobody can guarantee positions in Google, because nobody except those at Google HQ knows every minute detail of the criteria Google uses to rank websites. Unfortunately, there are companies out there that are willing to make such outlandish claims, taking money from people’s marketing budgets – and delivering little or nothing in return.

The bottom line is that there’s only one way to generate enquiries and sales through online marketing, and that’s through plain old hard work. The mysterious entity it is, Google will never tire of one thing, and that’s new, fresh and relevant content and its correct implementation. That’s where I-COM come in.
