
I-COM Social Media Team Picks Up Two Nominations in Some Comms Awards
I-COM’s social media team has been nominated in two categories at this year’s Some Comms awards.
The nominations, in the categories ‘Best use of social media by a private sector organisation’ and ‘Social media on a shoestring’, both relate to I-COM’s work with fashion brand I Love 2 Love (IL2L).
Boutique leather jacket retailer IL2L originally approached I-COM for SEO services however the I-COM team felt that a social campaign would work well for the brand, which was looking to build its visibility online.
Although initially sceptical about the bottom-line value of a social campaign, IL2L’s Director Richard Arron is now a firm convert: “Whilst we appreciated the branding opportunities of social media, we were hesitant to spend too much time and money on something that could not convincingly demonstrate ROI.
“That’s why, when we made the decision to try it out, it was with the proviso that I-COM demonstrate the financial as well as the branding benefits of their activities, and we have not been disappointed.
“Their creative ideas, belief in the IL2L brand and commitment to meeting the objectives have been consistently impressive.”
Over the past year, I-COM and IL2L have built a loyal online following for the brand using competitions, regularly updated and engaging blog content and targeted and creative social promotions.
I-COM’s Operations Director, Mike Blackburn, said: “This is fantastic recognition for the social media team at I-COM, who have all worked extremely hard over the last year to fulfil IL2L’s objectives.
