Help I-COM save Endangered Content Farms Sponsor a Content Farm Today
EDIT: I-COM created this page for April Fools Day 2011. For an explanation of the Farmer / Panda Update and what it means to your company, please see the Panda Update Post on our blog.
Content farms and their farmers have lived peacefully on our internet for at least 10 years.
It’s shocking to think that there are only about 11,000,000 results for the search term "content farm" remaining in Google. Don’t let them become nothing more than a memory.
The Situation in the USA
Google’s latest algorithm update, launched in the US a few weeks ago, has committed nothing short of content farm genocide.
Where once simple searches beginning with ‘how to…’ would have returned an SERP full of frolicking content farms all clamouring to help bewildered searchers, now these natural habitats appear completely devoid of the once healthy population.
It’s a depressing sight.
The terrible catastrophe of this year's algorithm update, which tragically devastated countless content networks, has also worsened the plight of the content farmer.
Massive drops in visitor numbers, triggered by the update, wiped out great swathes of traffic; traffic that was already fragmented by previous updates and competition from high quality content sites and mommy blogs.
Together, this means that the content farmers now have even more trouble affording enough of their staple diet - premium brand caffeinated soda.
You Can Help Us Protect UK Content Farms
Now, Google is threatening to launch the same algorithm update in the UK and Europe, an update that will see similar atrocities committed on our home-grown content farms.
That’s why I-COM has launched its ‘sponsor a content farm’ campaign, and created the Content Farm Sanctuary, a haven for endangered content.
What’s more, you can help.
