It's January 2012 and the inevitable first day back at the office. Christmas is over and our once twinkling tree is waiting to be taken down. It may be the end of the festive period, but the New Year is ahead of us and today I'm refusing to succumb to those January blues! Instead, I thought I'd get retrospective and take a look at what I-COM has achieved in the past year and what our clients can expect for 2012.

Client Wins & Welcomings

2011 was a big year for I-COM and it saw the company expand with the help of some excellent new clients and new staff members.

Confetti, Clear Law, Red Architectural, myparceldelivery.com, Cottrills Solicitors, Central Manchester University Hospitals and William James Recruitment all joined our client list and we have enjoyed delivering some great results so far. 2011 was also a very successful period for our existing clients, many of which occupied the top spot in the rankings for competitive key terms in their industry. New websites were also built for Barneys Manchester, Bailey Streetscene, Darbys Solicitors, Ski & Trek and Inclusion Matters.

The I-COM Site is Live & Kicking

2011 got off to great start with the launch of the new I-COM site. The new design showcased the brand's evolution and gave us a chance to share some of the brilliant work we have done for our clients. I-COM wanted to exhibit the wide range of skills its designers, developers and online marketers had to offer businesses, demonstrating exactly how they could help them grow.

Our hard work didn't go unnoticed and I-COM received a prestigious Dadi award nomination for 'Best In-house Website or Campaign'.

Checking into the I-COM Web Clinic

In July and October I-COM welcomed businesses to visit the I-COM Web Clinic. The events were hosted in JMW Solicitors's offices and offered an opportunity for companies to receive advice on the quality of their website and their overall online marketing strategy from a panel of experts. The aim was to demonstrate to attendees the positive impact digital marketing can have on their business,  helping them grow despite the difficult financial situation. This included some insider tips from the world of SEO, PPC, Design, Development and Social Media.

The clinics were a runaway success and we received some excellent feedback from those that attended.

Awards Recognition

As well as being commended at the Dadi Awards, November 2011 saw I-COM receive nominations for ‘Best use of social media by a private sector organisation’ and ‘Social media on a shoestring' at the Some Comms Awards.

This recognition was given for the IL2L social media campaign, which involved our social media team devising a strategy that would increase online visibility and ensure success for the brand. Creative promotions, engaging blog posts and an effective use of Twitter and Facebook were used to ensure that the campaign was a worthwhile investment for the business.

From Inception to Completion

Creativity became a focus for I-COM in 2011 and our team experimented with new ways to promote our clients and improve the performance of their businesses. This resulted in the video 'From Inception to Completion', which captured the process behind the development of the Barneys Manchester site.

The finished product? A stunning stop-motion video that showcases the work that goes into producing a website for our clients. If you don't believe me, take a look here.

So, what's next...?

I-COM are planning on making 2012 even bigger than 2011. There are some exciting projects in the pipeline and new site builds, web clinics and further expansion are all on the horizon. However, our key focus will always be on providing the very best service for our clients, and helping them grow their businesses.
